How I Came to Christ

At the early age of  six years old, I realized that I had void in my  life nothing could fill.  I attended VBS that year at a local church.  The teacher, read Romans 3:23 "For all  have sinned and fall  short of the glory of God."  This means we all sin, do bad things that make God sad, and because of  this we fall short of his standard-being perfect/sinless.   Then she read, John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."   This means God loves us so much, that he sent his only son, Jesus Christ, the only sinless one to die on the cross in our place.   Last she read, Matthew 28:6  "He is not here:for he is risen as he said, Come see the place where the Lord lay."   This means the Lord, Jesus Christ did not stay dead.  He rose again from the dead!   This was when I realized for the very first time that I  was a sinner, that Jesus loved me so much that he died for me, and that he had risen from the dead.  So, I prayed-talked to God, and told him, I was sorry for being a sinner, thanked him for his love for me, and for his death on the cross for me,and for rising from the dead, and asked him to come into my heart and save me from my sin.  Since, then I have had the promise of a future home in heaven,Christ as my best friend, and forgiveness of sin.
When I was in elementary school, the other children bullied me.  I  cried, and told my mother.  She prayed with me for me to be comforted by God.  I also told the teacher.  The teacher corrected the other children for this.  After awhile the other children, asked for forgiveness for being bullies and changed from bullies to friends.  I was grateful for this.
I  did not read my Bible as much as  I should have in tenth grade.  I attended a  camp that summer, a Christian camp, and realized after a week there, that I needed to start reading my Bible again, so I started reading it again in Proverbs. I never dated in highschool and some people though this was odd.  Just decided not too.  I  started to court in college.  My college sweetheart and I got married in 2004. We had our son, in 2008.
Life is not a bed of  roses though. Christians have trials/hardships in  life.  My husband hurt his knee in Dec. 2008, and had to switch to a desk job for work.  Then, in Dec. 2009  he, my husband, almost died.  He had pneumonia in his blood stream, which is extremely dangerous.  The doctors thought he looked half dead when he arrived at the hospital that year. He was in the hospital for a entire week during Christmas time. The doctors treated him for the h1n1 virus too.   It really was a miracle he survived this. I  give God the glory for this every day!
Anyone who claims Christians will always have material wealth, good health, etc.  are false teachers.  Even the Apostle Paul had hardships in life as mentioned in Acts, I Timothy & II Timothy.  Stephen was stoned for his faith in Christ ( in Acts), and many others were persecuted for their faith in Christ (in Acts), and their are Christians in other countries persecuted for their faith in Christ every day.  Plus, there  are Christians made fun every day for their stand in Christ by the media and others who are not saved.  Whether it is popular, or not Christians are to obey God by standing up for what is right, even if it means that others mock them.
